Great for day old sourdough bread!  If you only have a partial loaf left-over, reduce the recipe accordingly.

Great Simple Garlic Bread

Ingredients:
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 T olive or vegetable oil*
  • 8 cloves garlic, pressed
  • salt & pepper
  • pinch of Oregano
  • 1 loaf Sourdough bread, cut in half lengthwise
  • 2 T Parmesan Cheese
  • Sprinkle of garlic powder
  • Sprinkle of paprika
  • Optional: Chives, or finely chopped onions
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 400°

Soften/melt butter in microwave, add garlic, salt, pepper and oregano and chives or onion, if using, and mix thoroughly. Spread on bread halves and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, garlic powder and paprika.  Bake on cookie sheet for 10-15 minutes, until browned around the edges.  Slice and serve hot.

*Oil makes the butter spread easily. Steve doesn't like olive oil, so I substitute peanut or canola
